OSCAR JACOBSON UNVEIL AUTUMN WINTER 2016 SPORT COLLECTION

The modern golfer demands year-round performance and style from his golf wear to a far greater degree than previous generations. Thanks to its 113-year heritage in tailoring, and 40-year history of kitting out players on the European Tour, Swedish brand Oscar Jacobson is better equipped than anyone to meet those demands head-on.

OJ Sport’s Autumn/Winter 2016 collection hits the target on both counts like never before, mixing proven performers with eye-catching and stylish newcomers, The whole range is designed to keep you on your game when the main season is done thanks to high-quality, performance-enhancing fabrics, coupled with OJ Sport’s famed Scandinavian style.

The Autumn/Winter 2016 collection is presented in two colour themes – Resort for a classic look, and Club for the golfer not afraid to go bold. OJ Sport’s quest to stay tuned to the High Street has brought a number of new navy/burgundy combos to the Resort range, while the Club range sees the introduction of a strong contrast orange, plus a new fashion blue christened ‘Poseidon’.

For full weather protection, the Hartmann, Boris and Stark waterproof jackets lead the way. Hartmann uses a two-layer construction; Boris three lightweight layers. Both are full-zip jackets featuring four-way stretch fabrics and articulated sleeves for an ideal fit. Stark is a half-zip three–layer jacket with zip-off sleeves for maximum adaptability. All three feature fully taped seams.

Quentin joins the striking Marco and Marco Tour in the wind- and shower-proof line-up, and is among the garments to boast that new navy/burgundy combo. This newcomer is a winter-weight soft-shell jacket, with a brushed fleece liner for extra warmth and comfort, plus a drawstring at the bottom to tailor the fit around the waist.

Primaloft ® padding has been an integral and popular part of OJ Sport’s recent Autumn/Winter collections, and this year, Clemens joins Mulligan and the sleeveless Marcel in the Primaloft ® line-up. This advanced padding material brings warmth without unnecessary bulk, and Clemens is a half-zip top woven from an ultra-light fabric with high mechanical stretch and a rib-stop surface for a fittingly technical look.

Pullovers and sweaters for Autumn/Winter 2016 come in a wide variety of styles including: Nario, a half-zip top with a windproof dropliner; Norris, a stretch fleece sweater with elasticated waist and sleeve hems: and Theo, a jersey double-knit full-zip cardigan tailored from a 50/50 cotton/polyester mix. Wyatt is a classic Cashwool ® 100% extrafine Merino wool V-neck sweater in seven colours, while Nero is a 50% extrafine Merino wool V-neck with fashion detail on sleeve and collar. Those looking to make a bold statement will be drawn towards Niels and Nevan, both woven from a 50% extrafine Merino, 50% Polyacrylic mix. Niels is a tri-colour crew neck with a bold horizontal stripe; Nevan a half-zip windroof lined sweater in a striking Argyle pattern.

Rick and Jordi are the new shirts for autumn/winter 2016, joining Collin and Hubert in the range. Rick is a classic cotton-rich short-sleeved polo featuring a ribbed collar, with a hint of elastane in the mix to add an element of stretch to the pique-knit fabric. Jordi is a 100% polyester long-sleeved shirt with eye-catching cut-and-sewn panels on the chest. New base layer, Birk, tailored from a Meryl jersey fabric, joins the Ron Thermal and Rock Thermal as an additional base layer option in OJ Sport’s Weather Protection System (WPS), the finest layering concept on the market.

Many of the new Autumn/Winter collection’s performance garments can be combined to deliver OJ’s three-layer WPS. The shirts and underwear among OJ’s base layer collection are designed to be light, breathable and comfortable as they wick moisture away to regulate temperature. Mid-layer tops, fleeces and sweaters bring the element of warmth needed to play your best when the chill winds blow in. The windproof, watertight and lightweight outer layers then offer total protection from the elements. The whole WPS package is engineered to meet three key requirements – protection, comfort and freedom.

OJ Sport’s Autumn/Winter 2016 collection equips golfers like never before to deal with the additional demands of off-season golf without sacrificing style along the way.
